The Ohio Historical Society Archives/Library
is, by law, the archives for the State of Ohio.
As such, we collect, preserve, and make available
to the public, documents pertaining to the operation
of state and local governments.

African-American Experience
in Ohio: 1850-1920
This sample of digitized primary materials illuminates
specific moments in Ohio's history and provides
an overview of the experiences of African Americans
in Ohio. This project was made possible by the
generous support of the Library of Congress
and Ameritech. It will be completed in early
1999.
