More than just one day, History Day is a program that allows students to do independent research and create a project that has a life outside the program. Students choose a topic related to the annual theme and can create a paper, exhibit, documentary, performance or website. To participate in National History Day in Ohio, teachers, home school instructors, or advisors should fill out a pre-registration form (51k Adobe Acrobat PDF will load in new window). This form puts you on the teacher mailing list, ensuring you receive the fall intro packet with:
After the first of the year, teachers who have pre-registered will receive registration forms for the District History Day. Ohio has eleven districts, each holding its own event. Click here for district boundaries, competition dates and locations.
