Governor Names Two Trustees to Ohio Historical Society Board
COLUMBUS, Ohio December 18, 2007 – Gov. Ted Strickland has appointed
Glenda S. Greenwood of Springfield and Roderick H. Willcox of Columbus to the Board of Trustees of the Ohio Historical Society.
"I look forward to both Greenwood and Willcox becoming members of the OHS Board of Trustees," said William K. Laidlaw, Jr., executive director and CEO of the Ohio Historical Society. “Their combined professional expertise will add further value to the board and be of enormous help to the Ohio Historical Society as we continue to become more entrepreneurial.
Greenwood, a career banking professional, is currently a vice president of Huntington Bank, a position she assumed in 2003. In the Springfield community, she has been active on the boards of numerous civic organizations, including Altrusa International, Downtown Springfield Association, Clark County Historical Society, Springfield Marketing and Advertising Council, American Institute of Banking, Springfield Arts Council, Red Cross, YMCA, United Way and Junior Achievement among others.
Greenwood holds a bachelor’s degree from Taylor University in Upland Indiana and attended the Ohio School of Bank Marketing at Miami University in Oxford.
Willcox, a partner in the law firm of Chester, Wilcox and Saxbe, practices in the areas of business and corporate law with an emphasis on closely held businesses, business succession, tax issues and estate planning. His practice also includes working in all aspects of commercial real estate transactions.
Willcox received his bachelor’s degree from Williams College in Williamstown, Mass., and his law degree from the University of Michigan. He has been listed in Best Lawyers in America, Corporate Law & Trusts and Estates and in Ohio Super Lawyers, Business, General. His professional memberships include the Columbus Bar Association, Ohio State Bar Association and American Bar Association and he was chairman of the Columbus Foundation Legal Advisory Committee from 2000-2005.
The OHS Board of Trustees has 21 members. Nine are appointed by the governor, nine are elected by the membership and three are selected by the Board.
