For Immediate Release
Register Now for Children’s History Program at the Harding Home
(MARION, Ohio, June 20, 2008) - President Harding's Home currently is accepting registrations for an afternoon session for its next History Detectives children's program on July 15. The morning session, scheduled for 9:30-11:30, is nearly full, so an afternoon session from 1:30-3:30 p.m. has been added. Each session has limited space and is geared for children ages 8-12.
On July 15, the History Detectives will tackle The Case of the Pink-Tipped Rose. They will investigate what people in the Hardings' era did for fun in the summertime, using the Harding Home's treasure of clues as a guide. A craft inspired by Mrs. Harding and a tasty snack will round out each session.
The final mystery of the summer series, which includes a morning and afternoon session, takes place on August 12, where the History Detectives will piece together The Case of the Tick-Tock Clock. The Hardings’ kitchen takes center stage in this mystery, as the detectives investigate the behind-the-scenes world of running a household in the early 1900s.
Pre-registration is required. Parents may register their children for either program, or for both remaining mysteries, by calling the Harding Home at 387-9630. The program fee for each History Detectives mystery is $1 for Ohio Historical Society members and $4 for non-members. Payment is due on the program day.
President Harding's Home is located at 380 Mt. Vernon Ave. and is a site of the Ohio Historical Society.
