History Comes Alive with Echoes in Time Theatre
Ohio Historical Center presents "Free at Last!"
(COLUMBUS, Ohio, May 14, 2008) – Echoes in Time Theatre at the Ohio Historical Center will be presenting “Free at Last!” June 5, 12, 19 and 26. Juneteenth is widely talked about and celebrated throughout the country. Come listen and learn about the origin of this popular African-American celebration.
Traveling through time listen as we hear from three African-American women, portrayed by Lesley Cornathan of Hilliard, Ohio. The first woman tells of the first celebration in 1867, the second talks about its resurgence in the 1920s, and the third relates present day. Come and listen to the story as it unfolds in this Echoes in Time presentation.
The 30-minute, solo performance takes place each Thursday evening at 7 and 8 p.m. Admission to the Ohio Historical Center is $8/adults, $4/students and free for OHS members and children 5 years old and under.
